Astronomers using Nasa’s Hubble Space Telescope have discovered a new type of cosmic object that is believed to be a “failed galaxy”. Dubbed ‘Cloud-9’, the astronomical curiosity is a cloud of dark matter 14 million light-years from Earth that contains no stars.
